چکیده
In a world where algorithms are ubiquitous, the development of computational thinking competencies is becoming progressively important among students, technology professionals, and 21st-century citizens in general. Educational games as means promoting skills have gained popularity recent years. Offering efficient educational that promote requires personalized learning paths through adaptive difficulty. The research presented herein first attempt to define difficulty function for maze-based programming challenges using log data obtained from Kodetu, which block-based maze game. Specifically, we conducted three studies with 9- 16-year-old students who were asked solve sequences challenges. Using these studies, investigated characteristics coding limitations affect performance calculated by participants fuzzy rule-based system. results showed turns maze, number total steps blocks provided student performance. regression analysis, defined considers weights factors provides step towards design thinking-related games.

JZ Young died on 4th July. Although 90 in March, and recently in poor health, he was still working. With long-time collaborators, he was preparing two books and two papers for publication. Three of these are on cephalopod brains and biology, the fourth on the autonomic nervous system of dogfish, an early interest to which he returned after his retirement in 1974. John Young (known as JZ to coll...
متن کاملFirst Steps Towards Coverage-Based Sentence Alignment
In this paper, we introduce a coverage-based scoring function that discriminates between parallel and non-parallel sentences. When plugged into Bleualign, a state-of-the-art sentence aligner, our function improves both precision and recall of alignments over the originally proposed BLEU score. Furthermore, since our scoring function uses Moses phrase tables directly we avoid the need to transla...
متن کاملFirst Steps Towards Coverage-Based Document Alignment
In this paper we describe a method for selecting pairs of parallel documents (documents that are a translation of each other) from a large collection of documents obtained from the web. Our approach is based on a coverage score that reflects the number of distinct bilingual phrase pairs found in each pair of documents, normalized by the total number of unique phrases found in them. Since parall...
متن کاملFirst Steps Towards Violin Performance Extraction using Genetic Programming
This paper outlines the outstanding problem of performance extraction from an audio signal of violin performance. It describes some preliminary programming runs that solve components of the larger problem and suggest that genetic programming is a viable aproach to solving the larger problem. Techniques for dealing with tness cases and evaluation of time based signals using GP are presented.
